Stonehenge
4,500 years old and surrounded by a number of other notable things to see and do, including Stone Age homes, rare archaeological finds, it's the perfect day trip for anyone staying near Winchester.
Great Hall at Winchester Castle
Originally built in 1067 by William the Conqueror and remodelled in 1235, it's one of the most beautiful and atmospheric buildings in the city, and a great place to learn more about the city's history through its range of yearly events.
Marwell Zoo
Home to a vast range of amazing animals that children will love, including Amur tigers, snow leopards and cheetahs. There are also five adventure playgrounds, miniature trains and lots of parkland to explore too, making for a perfect kid-friendly day out.
Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium
With 100 exhibits that are sure to entertain and enthral and loads of events running throughout the year, it's one of Winchester's most exciting attractions.
Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway
Home to an adventure playground, picnicking areas and a lake, the entire site can be explored thanks to the miniature railway that runs throughout. If you're looking for a place to kick off or culminate a grand day out, you can do no better than here.
National Motor Museum
A fun day out for families featuring one or two gearheads in their midst. With cars ranging from some of the oldest in the world to amazing F1 super machines, there's loads to learn about and explore.
